The Challenge
Most sleep masks solve for light and stop there, leaving breathing, hygiene, and everyday sleep positions unaddressed. The challenge was to design a mask that seals out light completely while supporting nasal breathing, staying comfortable for side sleepers, and remaining fully washable for everyday use. Every material, seam and strap had to work as one modular system, not a single fix stitched onto assumptions.
Built To Be Washed, Not Just Worn
A modular architecture let Analogy select parts and materials built to survive nightly washing without losing shape. The chin strap, nasal dilator, and headband detach independently, so usability stays entirely optional, wear it with the strap, without it, with the dilator, or without, depending on the night.
Akhil partnered with Analogy Design to develop the Sleepmaxxer mask between in 2025 & 2026.
In a category where 90% of sleep masks are built for back sleepers, Sleepmaxxer was created to bring rest back to how people actually sleep. Founder Akhil Krishna came to Analogy after years of consulting travel left his own sleep broken, unable to find a mask that handled side sleeping, mouth breathing, and long-haul flights at once. The goal was never another blackout mask. It was a wearable sleep-breathing system.
Analogy's team focused on combining a soft chin strap, contoured no-pressure eye cups, and an integrated nasal dilator pocket into a single, washable design. Through iterative prototyping, sketch exploration, and human ergonomics testing, Sleepmaxxer evolved into a modular sleep mask, comfortable across side, back, and stomach sleeping, and engineered to survive nightly machine washing.

A modular, washable sleep mask engineered for real everyday use.
Sleepmaxxer was developed as a nasal-breathing sleep mask that combines total blackout, a soft chin strap and an integrated dilator pocket within a compact, washable form. Through CAD engineering and functional prototyping, the product architecture was optimized to keep every component modular, detachable straps, a removable dilator, and contoured eye cups that work across side, back and all-round sleeping. Human factors testing guided the fit, ensuring even pressure distribution and zero light leak in every position. Analogy ensured Sleepmaxxer could move smoothly from working prototype to crowdfunding-ready hardware, brand and product built for a Kickstarter launch and global fulfilment.

Who designed the Sleepmaxxer Mask?
Sleepmaxxer, a nasal-breathing sleep mask by Geniyes Life, was designed end-to-end by Analogy Design. Our team led industrial design, CAD engineering, prototyping, and manufacturing preparation, working closely with Geniyes founder Akhil Krishna to translate his own sleep-breathing struggles into a wearable product. The project covered everything from eyecup exploration and silhouette sketching to techpack creation and retail packaging design.
What makes Sleepmaxxer different from other sleep masks?
Most sleep masks on the market are designed for back sleepers and solve only for light. Sleepmaxxer was engineered specifically for side sleepers and nasal breathing, combining no-pressure contoured eye cups, an integrated nasal dilator pocket, and a soft chin strap into one modular, machine-washable sleep mask. Every component, from the headband to the dilator, was designed to detach independently, so usability stays flexible across different sleep positions and nightly routines.
Is Sleepmaxxer machine washable?
Yes. Washability was one of the core design challenges Analogy solved for. Through careful material selection, CMF (color, material, finish) exploration, and a modular part architecture, the mask's chin strap, nasal dilator and headband can be detached before washing, letting the entire product go through a standard machine wash cycle without losing shape or performance.
