Designing a low-cost mobile dental clinic with full clinical functionality, fast setup, and true portability was the core challenge Mobident was facing. Every decision had to balance performance, usability, manufacturing cost, and real-world transport constraints.

Re-Architecting A Portable Dental Clinic
Analogy approached the mobile dental clinic as a complete system redesign rather than a cosmetic upgrade. The team focused on product architecture, pneumatic engineering, and component optimization to reduce size, weight, and complexity. By eliminating unnecessary electronics and refining the mechanical layout, the portable dental unit was engineered for reliability, ease of maintenance, and scalable manufacturing.
Mobident founder Vivek Madappa partnered with Analogy Design in 2024 to redesign the Dental Intelligence Clinic from the ground up.
A vision to remove barriers to dental care became a mission-driven medical device design challenge.
After 8 years of fragmented development, the product needed clarity, direction, and engineering rigor. Analogy began by aligning deeply with Mobident’s purpose of enabling dentists to start practices without high setup costs. This required transforming a traditional dental clinic into a compact, mobile dental unit that could operate anywhere. Every design decision was driven by accessibility, cost efficiency, and real clinical workflows. The team conducted deep technical exploration into pneumatic systems, material selection, and ergonomic layouts.By combining industrial design with mechanical engineering and usability engineering, Analogy created a portable dental clinic that feels intuitive to dentists while remaining robust for daily use. The result was not just a product redesign, but a redefinition of how dental care can reach underserved communities.

Analogy applied industrial design, mechanical engineering, and medical product design to re-architect the portable dental clinic from the inside out.
Our team simplified the pneumatic architecture using pressurised air and water, reducing component count and internal volume by half. Logical component placement, passive cooling, and modular sub-systems improved reliability while lowering manufacturing and assembly costs. The result is a compact mobile dental unit designed for daily clinical use. Usability engineering played a key role in reducing cognitive load for dentists.A two-part modular system separates personal tools from the compressor unit, enabling faster setup and cleaner workflows. Intuitive layouts, durable materials, and easy-to-clean surfaces ensure the portable dental clinic remains hygienic, efficient, and ready for outreach environments.
