The Challenge
Modern exercise bikes are often bulky, distracting, and disconnected from home interiors, leaving users unmotivated and disengaged. Many smart fitness devices prioritize metrics over the user experience, leading to short-lived interest.

Research-Driven Product Engineering
Analogy Design tackled this challenge through exercise psychology research, ergonomic studies, and iterative prototyping. Sensors such as heart rate and speed trackers were integrated with an analytical algorithm to provide personalized feedback. The team combined industrial design, UI UX, mechanical engineering, and product visualization to ensure Shard delivers a cohesive and interactive fitness experience.
When a global fitness brand approached Analogy Design with a vision for an immersive exercise bike, we saw the chance to redefine home workouts.
An exercise bike that motivates through ambient light, not screens.
Analogy Design observed that sedentary lifestyles were increasing while traditional home fitness solutions remained uninspiring. The team used exercise psychology principles, ergonomic analysis, and industrial design expertise to create an exercise bike that encourages regular use without overwhelming the user. The product was designed to function in two modes: Cycling mode for immersive workouts and Standby mode as a light installation. Combining industrial design, UI UX design, mechanical engineering, and product visualization, Shard delivers a premium, interactive, and motivating home fitness experience.

Home gym interiors looks bad
Most fitness equipment clashes with home décor, appearing bulky or industrial. Poor aesthetics prevent users from integrating devices seamlessly into living spaces, affecting long-term usage and motivation.

Analogy tackled high costs of personal training by integrating smart sensors, analytical algorithms, and the Shard app. Users receive data-driven, adaptive workouts that feel personal without the expense of a trainer.
Immersive, ambient, and smart: Shard makes home fitness engaging and elegant.
Shard also uses real-time feedback from heart rate and speed sensors to adjust workout intensity dynamically. The mobile app guides users with personalized training regimes, virtual challenges, and peer comparison features, keeping each session motivating and effective. This combination of IoT technology, UX design, and industrial engineering ensures every ride is both engaging and results-driven. To make workouts engaging, Shard leverages ambient light and immersive interactions rather than relying solely on numbers or screens. Cycling mode and virtual racing options ensure variety and maintain motivation.Aesthetics were a core focus. By using premium materials like glass, brass, and leather, and designing the bike to function as a light installation in standby mode, Shard blends seamlessly into home interiors while elevating the visual appeal of any space.
